We asked one question of every major GLP-1 telehealth provider: can a prospective patient find out what treatment will cost before signing up?
The answers were revealing. Some providers publish complete pricing on their websites โ every dose level, every fee, every add-on. Others require you to create an account, complete a medical questionnaire, and sometimes even have a paid consultation before you learn what you'll actually pay. A few make pricing so difficult to find that we couldn't determine it at all without enrolling.
We created a grading system to rate every provider on pricing transparency, because we believe patients deserve to know what something costs before they commit.
๐ฅ Our methodology: We evaluated each provider on five criteria: (1) pricing visible on homepage or within one click, (2) dose-level pricing disclosed, (3) all fees disclosed (shipping, labs, consultations), (4) cancellation terms clearly stated, and (5) no account creation required to see pricing. Each criterion is worth one point. Five points = Grade A. Three to four = Grade B. Two or fewer = Grade C.
The Grading Scale
Provider Transparency Ratings
Grade A: Full Transparency
These providers make pricing a feature, not a secret. You can understand the full cost of treatment from their public-facing website without creating an account or providing personal information.
Gala earns an A for displaying flat-rate pricing prominently โ $179/mo regardless of dose level, with no hidden fees to discover later. Their pricing model is one of the simplest and most transparent in the market.
View Gala โYucca publishes bundle pricing for both semaglutide and tirzepatide, with clear per-month costs visible on their website. Both medication types and their respective pricing are easy to find.
View Yucca Health โEmbody shows its $149 first-month and $299/mo ongoing pricing clearly, with the cost structure easy to understand before enrollment. Transparent about what's included.
View Embody โGrade B: Partial Transparency
These providers show starting prices or general pricing ranges, but some cost details require additional research โ dose-escalation pricing, lab costs, or shipping fees may not be immediately visible.
Grade C: Opaque Pricing
Providers in this category require account creation, a medical questionnaire, or a consultation before any pricing is revealed. While there may be legitimate medical reasons for custom pricing (such as medication selection based on health history), the inability to comparison-shop without committing time and personal information is a barrier for patients.
We've intentionally not named specific providers in the Grade C section, because pricing visibility can change rapidly and we don't want to unfairly characterize a provider that may have updated their website since our evaluation. Instead, here are the red flags to watch for:
๐ฉ "Complete your assessment to see pricing" โ If pricing is gated behind a medical questionnaire, you can't compare costs without investing significant time with each provider you're evaluating.
๐ฉ No pricing page exists at all โ Some providers simply don't have a pricing section on their website. The only way to learn what you'll pay is to begin the enrollment process.
๐ฉ "Pricing varies based on your plan" โ While personalized pricing can be legitimate, this language is sometimes used to avoid publishing any specific numbers at all.
Why Transparency Matters
Price transparency isn't just about convenience โ it's about power dynamics. When you can see what every provider charges before signing up with any of them, you negotiate from a position of knowledge. When pricing is hidden, the provider controls the information asymmetry.
Transparent providers are also making a statement about their confidence in their value proposition. A provider willing to show you their pricing next to every competitor believes their offering stands on its own merits. A provider that hides pricing may be concerned about direct comparison.
Other Providers to Explore
These providers didn't neatly fit our grading criteria (pricing structures are still being established or recently launched), but offer competitive programs worth evaluating directly:
How We'll Keep This Updated
We plan to re-evaluate provider transparency quarterly. Providers can improve their grade at any time by publishing clearer pricing information. If a provider listed as Grade B publishes complete dose-level pricing, we'll upgrade them. If a Grade A provider adds new hidden fees, we'll downgrade them.
Our goal is simple: make it easier for you to find providers who respect your right to know what treatment costs before you commit.
Bottom line: Choose providers who show you the full picture upfront. Transparent pricing isn't just more convenient โ it's a signal that the provider values your trust and stands behind their value. Bookmark our Price Index for the most comprehensive ongoing pricing comparison.
